Stephen Bowden is a Virtual Environment Postgraduate Researcher. He started at the CVE in 2005, studying as a Masters Student. He remained at the University, working as a Virtual Reality Trainee Consultant with the Virtual Environments Technology Solutions (VETS) commercial unit. Following a post with The Research Institute of the Built and Human Environment, where he applied his knowledge of games engine technology, he has now returned to the CVE in order to pursue a PhD in Virtual Environments.
He was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology with Studies in Japan in 2001, at the University of Salford. Then awarded an Msc in Virtual Environments in 2006. His PhD will focus on the capture and representation of non-verbal communication in virtual human avatars.
